This is a short list of some of the gecko related terminology and definitions that is commonly used in the trade.

AFT - short for African Fat-Tailed Gecko

Bell - bloodline of albinos founded by Bell

Egg bound - a female that is bound from eggs and is unable to lay them

Gastroenteritis -

Gravid - term to describe a when a female has eggs inside her

Hatchling - a newly hatched gecko

Hemipenis - male gecko sexual organ

Herp - a reptile or amphibian

Herpetoculture - keeping and breeding of reptiles and or amphibians

herpetoculturists - a person who keeps and and breeds reptiles and or amphibians

Herpetology - the study of reptiles and amphibians

Het - short for heterogeneous

Heterogeneous - Carries a recessive gene

Humidity -

Humidity hide - A hide designed to contain a high humidity level

Impaction - medical term used when a gecko's gastro tract is blocked and cannot allow the passage of

                 material

Incubation - term use to describe the controlling of environmental conditions or eggs in attempts to 

                  hatch them

Juvenile - a gecko that is in its early stages of life, generally still growing and developing rapidly and

              before sexual maturity
